The Write-In Campaign To Elect Artie Lange Mayor of Hoboken
We want you to vote for Artie Lange this November for Mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey. Artie has plenty of money and he hates politics, so he won’t be tempted by the crooked forces that plague New Jersey politics. Let’s watch him fix the budget while shoving a chicken parm in his face.
This is a write-in campaign which will require a little work on behalf of the voters. When it is closer to the election date, we will provide detailed instructions (with pictures) describing how exactly to cast your vote for Artie.
DISCLAIMER: This campaign has not been endorsed by Artie Lange…but if you vote for him, he will be elected.
Can Artie win?
Of course he can. This November’s election for Mayor is a special election where the highest vote-getter will win. Artie just needs to run faster than everyone else. He does not need more than 50% of the vote. He just needs 1 vote more than anyone else who runs.
There has been a lot of speculation about other potential candidates entering the field. In our view, the more the merrier. We just need 1 more vote than them.
What if Artie decides he wants to run?
In order to become an official candidate for the November Mayoral race in Hoboken, a potential candidate must do two things:
1. Sign an official petition declaring his or her candidacy, which can be picked up at the Hoboken Clerk’s office; and
2. Collect the signatures of at least 36 registered voters that live in Hoboken by September 15.
It really is that simple! If Artie decided today that he wanted to run, we could ensure that he get all the signatures he needs to become an official candidate.
You’re probably thinking, “Wow I know 36 registered voters, why don’t I run for Mayor of Hoboken?” The truth is that if you are a registered voter and you live in Hoboken, you CAN be an official candidate for Mayor in Hoboken. However, you must follow steps 1 and 2 above. You don’t even need to be affiliated with any political party to run for Mayor because the elections in Hoboken are non-partisan.
What can you do?
If you are a resident of Hoboken, we obviously want you to vote for Artie. However, we need you to volunteer to convince others that voting for Artie is the right thing to do. Please go to the Volunteer page to sign up.
If you own a business that wants to donate your products or services to the campaign, please contact campaign manager Bob Abouey at info@mayorartie.com For example, we could really use someone to donate printing supplies and services so that we can print flyers and high-gloss advertising cards.
