Bob’s family has lived in Hoboken for three generations.  His great grandparents immigrated to Hoboken from Avellino, Italy, in 1910.  Throughout the years, the Abouey family has witnessed the evolution of Hoboken from an industrial ship-building hub to its current gentrified neighborhoods overflowing with ambitious Yuppies.

Bob Abouey is a bricklayer who completed his trowel trades apprenticeship in 1986.  Earning Journeyman status shortly thereafter, Bob spent the next 20 years with the Northern New Jersey Bricklayer’s Union, local #15, where he served as its President from 1996 until 2000.  Bob currently owns Jersey Brickwork, Inc.

Having never affiliated with a political party, Bob enjoys the freedom to vote for whomever he wants.  Don’t tell Bob that you will lower his taxes because you won’t.  Just let him know that you will be straight with him.

Bob believes that public service is important.  He is promoting Artie as a candidate for Mayor because he is tired of politicians serving themselves instead of the public.  Plus, he knows that he can count on Artie to give him the unvarnished truth.
